I absolutely love doing maternity sessions, mums are at their most beautiful. And I especially enjoy doing these sessions outside somewhere. It just adds to the natural beauty of the moment.
This session, mum loved horses, so we met out at Te Karaka at the Riverview Treks & Pinehollow Riding School, what an awesome place, if you love horses get in touch with them, they are so lovely.
They had this beautiful white horse ready for us, and she was so gentle. She knew that she was with a pregnant mum, as she gently rubbed her head on the mums tummy, it was just beautiful to witness.
I cannot say enough how much I loved doing this session, the scenery was wonderful, the whole time we were there it was really special.
So, you've booked yourself in for a family photos shoot, and then you think, "oh no, what do we wear????"
What to wear to your photo session is quite important and also can be a dilemma, do we wear all the same or wear our casual clothes, dress up like we are going to a ball???
It doesn't need to be quite that hard, you have to make sure first of all that you will all be comfortable, forcing a child to wear something he or she isn't comfortable in will make for a few unhappy photos as they won't enjoy the session.
I usually say to wear something dress/casual, something you might normally wear, so the photos will look like you, not stiff and informal.
Things to consider, is your shoot outside, is it hot, dress to match the season. Are you in studio, then the room will be warmed up or cooled down and comfortable.
